If counting down the new year is non-negotiable, then make plans to attend the Big Lick Downtown Countdown. This annual event transforms Market Square into Times Square as guests usher in 2018 with food, craft beer, and musical guests.
Firehouse Skate N Play in Vinton plays host to New Year’s Eve All Night Skate beginning at 7pm, with a celebratory balloon drop at midnight. Enjoy a pizza buffet, contests, and a pancake breakfast.
If you’re a fan of live music, make plans to attend the New Year’s Eve Harvester Bash at the Harvester Performance Center in Rocky Mount. This family-friendly event hosts a variety of bands and a champagne toast at midnight. Purchase your tickets in advance and receive a discount!
Martin’s Downtown Bar and Grill will be hosting their hugely popular New Year’s Eve Bash featuring live music from GAK-BOTZ, a 90’s rock and hip-hop tribute band. The event begins at 10pm and requires a $10 cover.
If you’d prefer a more formal gathering to ring in the new year, then purchase tickets to the New Year’s Eve Gala at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center. Known as the fanciest New Year’s Eve party in the Star City, this event includes a buffet, spirits, and two ballrooms with live entertainment. Tickets are $195 per couple or $97.50 for singles.
