If you’re a Smith Mountain Lake resident or guest, chances are you know that the area’s signature event is the Smith Mountain Lake Wine Festival, which takes place annually on the last weekend of September. But there’s another event that is quickly becoming a popular draw for the community and tourists alike: The Smith Mountain Lake Beer and BBQ Festival.
This year’s event takes place on Saturday, May 6th from 1p-7p at Downtown Moneta and features barbecue vendors from all across the region as well as 20 local and regional craft breweries and cideries. Enjoy live music from Goose Gossett and Place Called Home Band while sampling pulled pork, fall-off-the-bones ribs, and brisket.
Advance tickets are $30 and gate admission is $35. Children under 6 are free. Tickets can be purchased at VisitSmithMountainLake.com.
